We left Myrtle Beach early to spend the weekend with Gerry and Kay at there house and Nadine flew down from New Hampshire.  It was short but fun and when we left we booked a week at there house for next October.

 We took a walk down to the boat launch and took a group selfie.

Today Myles won an award at school given annually to one outstanding 7th grader "who exemplifies the highest qualities of leadership, scholarship and service to the community".  We are all so proud of him.

Greta sent the video in a text and when I asked her if she knew she said, "We just knew Myles or Hunter were getting something but we didn't know who or what."

Mother's Day Weekend

It was my slowest moving day.  I just couldn't get moving.  Usually I pack the night before I go but this time I packed in the morning.  It was only for a weekend and I wouldn't need that much and I actually did a good job of not overpacking.

On the drive Greta said if I got to her house by 5 we could drive together to Tucker's lower school concert.  I was 20 minutes away and all of a sudden my GPS showed a delay of another 20 minutes.  So I went straight to Brunswick and got there an hour before the start and got us the best seats right in front.

Visit to Greta and Laura

There was going to be a Camp Somerset reunion in Boston on March 5 that Nadine and I were going to go to.  We would stay with Laura and she could come too.  First I went to see Greta and the boys on Thursday.  We had some hockey of course and on Friday afternoonTucker and I went to the movies and saw A Dog's Purpose.  Some more hockey for Tucker that night and we were going to go out to eat but it was so late that we just went home.  Myles had come with us but he ate at Chelsea Piers.  Tucker and I had leftovers at home and Greta and Charles went out to eat.

I took B2B pictures with each of the boys.  Tucker is the only one still shorter than me.

Greta and I went for coffee the next morning, we were both up early, and it was nice to have the time together.  I left around 9ish and got to Laura's before she got home and before Nadine got there.
There was snow at home that weekend but only cold in CT and MA.
We drove into Boston to the Prudential Center and wandered around Eately.

We were going to go to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner but it was packed with an hour wait.  We didn't want to have to go outside to find somewhere to eat because it was so cold but we found another place right near there and thanks to Laura's eagle eyes, we got ourselves a high table in the bar area and didn't have to wait at all.

On Sunday we all went to hot yoga and then to the reunion.  There weren't very many of us but it was fun remembering things and hearing about the new owners plans for the camp.

Foot and Mouth

Today I had my second appointment at the Eastman Dental clinic in an attempt to figure out options of what to do with my teeth, or lack of, that makes the most sense.  As alluded to in previous posts I had a winter devoted to my teeth and wound up with two bridges less by the end of March.  One lower right which fell off before we went away for the winter and couldn't be glued back because there was nothing left to glue onto.  The other upper left afater getting two teeth pulled that were under the bridge.

I was checked and prodded for bone condition, full mouth x-rays, photos taken with a torture contraption held in place by the assistant as the dentist took the photos, that hurt my stretched lips more than anything.  The lips need to be well moistened and stretching exercises should be done beforehand, if only I knew.  Then I had a 360 X-Ray.  This whole process took 2 hours.  My next appointment is July 14th when I will get the results.

Then when I got to read my emails I saw that Gerry sent out a note that he was having surgery on his foot similar to one he had in 1992 but on the opposite foot.  Of course, I had a picture of that and sent it.

Then also sent the update.

A Day with Aunt Harrie

Bev and Tucker dropped me off at the OG train station and I bought my ticket and enjoyed waiting for the train in my favorite 80 degrees and sunny weather.

The train had power that worked so I was able to charge my phone - in both directions.  

I didn't get a metro card when I bought my tickets because I could only find one for $25 and I would never use it before it expired so I figured I'd just wait till I got to the station.  Since there were lines at all the machines I asked an attendant if I could buy a 2 trip metro ticket and he looked at me and said "What you should get is a senior round trip."  I was about to kick him but since he was probably close to my age and followed up with "But that machine is broken so I'll let you in" and he proceeded to unlock a gate for me to go through.  It doesn't seem like that long abo when I was getting proofed to prove my age.  Even on the train ride in and back the conductor didn't look twice when I handed him my senior/medicare train ticket.

I got to Aunt Harrie's around 1:20 and we visited, looked at pictures and had a Mexican lunch.

Aunt Harrie was diagnosed with cellulitis on Friday and after a couple of days on antibiotics she's much better.  Her friend Lil stopped by to check on her and Joy came back from picking up next door neighbor Alan from the hospital.  He hobbled in on his walker a little while later.  He had knee replacement surgery.  

When everyone was gone we took some selfies.

Then Aunt Harrie said she was tired and that was my cue to leave.  Besides it was already 4 o'clock.  The time went by so fast.

Since my hip was feeling good and it was such a spectacular day I decided to walk.  I walked down 7th Ave the whole way for 2 reasons.  One, it has lots of good stores and teo - in case my hip started to give me a problem I could hop on the subway.  I decded to take a photo of my interesting sights along the way.

Greta Visit

I arrived on Thursday and it was hockey, hockey and more hockey.  I almost had lacrosse thrown in on Sunday but Tucker's hockey team made it to the finals and he wanted to play in it.  This is the video of the game (but only when he was in it).

Hunter also played on Sunday before going to his lacrosse games.  He was easy to identify with his unique sock style.

Everyone won on Sunday.  Myles and Hunter's respective lacrosse teams won their divisions championship and Charles, who was in Lake Placid for a mountain bike race got his spot in a Colorado race.

Myles is way taller than me now.

Tucker had his last day of school on Friday.

After we picked him up at school, Hunter, his friend Tripp, Bev, and I went to see The Jungle Book.

Sunday night after an awful storm that lasted about 5-10 minutes (I was home with Tucker and Greta rode trhough it with Hunter) we all went to the Beach House for dinner.

Gerry and Kay's Wedding Weekend

We arrived at the Andell Inn around 1:30 but our room wasn't ready but we met Gerry and Alan across the street at the King Street Grill where we were going for dinner that night. Greta, Laura and Nadine got there about 2:30 and the room still wasn't ready so we hung out in the lobby until it was at 3:00.
We went to our room and left our stuff and changed for a walk (run for Greta).  Laura got the best picture with the horse using her selfie stick.

 The horse didn't want to put his head over the fence for us.

we caravaned out to Kay and Gerry's new house, that they won't be in until the end of March, for a tour.  First we stopped to check out this famous tree

Then it was off to the beach for a walk before getting ready for the wedding.

Nadine had hair and make-up done by Greta and she also finished my hair which turned out looking great.  We all looked so GOOD!!
The wedding was at the 300 year old Johns Island Presbyterian Church.  It felt like I should be back in colonial times sitting in the pews that had doors with locks on them.  The history of the church is interesting to read.

It was a beautiful wedding and a fun receptionist where we met Gerry's coworkers and neighbors who were all so warm and friendly.

We did the requisite picture of Nadine, Gerry and I.  This has been a traditon since the early 1990s.  See this post.

On Sunday we went to brunch at their current house before everyone headed home or off to other places.

Summer Streets

New York City is such a fun place and Summer Streets really opens it up for New Yorkers and out of towners alike to enjoy it in a different way.  So glad my family was able to enjoy it.

Greta Visit

It's hard to get a picture with all of the boys and me but I managed to get into pictures with all of the boys but not at the same time.

Maybe I should photoshop myself into this one.

On Saturday I went into the city and saw Nadine, Gerry and Kay at Aunt Harrie's.

When Charles and Greta came back from the wedding at the Cape they came to Rocky.  Not very good swimming weather.

 Mark Cuban's boat Fountainhead was anchored off shore.

Myles is now taller than I am.
