Laura and I visited Greta so that we could celebrate her birthday with her. This was the second time for Laura because John and Ann were there for Greta's actual birthday while Larry and I were in Hilton Head. Her family was thinking she had enough birthday celebrations already.
The first day we were there, Thursday, we sang happy birthday and had the cake.
On Friday we went into the city to visit Aunt Harrie. On the way we stopped in Yonkers and stopped and took pics of the house where I grew up
as well as where John lived.
We drove into the city and were going to park near Aunt Harrie's and when we arrived at the garage I made a mad dash out of the car to find a restaurant with a rest room I could use. I was desperate (TMI??). While there, I got a text that the garage was full and they were going to find another one. As it turned out they found one a few blocks away and also found a fabulous restaurant for lunch - Jack's Wife Freda. We went to the one on 8th and 16th St. It was chilly out that day but this restaurant had outside seating with plastic around 3 sides and heaters over the tables. We were able to get a corner table so we were well protected and the food was great.
By the time we finished lunch it was perfect for getting to Aunt Harrie's at 3:00. We visited for 45 minutes, before she got tired. She's 102 and looked great. She was walking around when we arrived and looked like a teenager - well, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration. Because of Covid, we wore out masks for the whole visit even though we'd all been vaccinated. I had already gotten my booster and Aunt Harrie was getting hers on Monday.
