Betsy is Gone

We lost Betsy very quickly.  Not knowing what was wrong with her, she was in the hospital where it was discovered she had cancer, brain and somewhere else.

She was in our bridge club for a long time and I used to drive her to bridge if I was able.

1937 - 2019 Obituary Condolences

Elizabeth (Betsy) Van Horn

Webster, NY - Born 7/24/1937, died 1/30/2019. She is survived by her brother David. She graduated from Oberlin College with honors. Betsy had a long career at Kodak in Computer Technology. She was an avid bridge player and supported the arts.

There will be a celebration of her life on May 4th.

I was out of the country for  the celebration of her life but Beth sent me a copy of this which her sister-in-law wrote and had at them memorial.

From the past

When we were at a craft sale about 5 years ago Larry thought this plaque would be cute in the kitchen.   I think he thought it represented me and of course I didn't.  I make all these homemade soups and bake banana bread and oatmeal cookies regularly.  Nevertheless, it sits on my stove.

I recently was looking for a recipe in Greta's Bridal Shower cookbook from 2003 and after reading the first paragraph I thought, "That sounds like that plaque on the stove.  But it did apply to me back then, maybe only a little now.
